Site categories

Citations split by site type: media, review sites, directories, social networks. See which kinds of sites AIs read about your niche and in what proportion.

Why categories matter

A list of domains says little until you know what those sites are. Answers sourced from trade media are one thing, answers from review sites or business directories quite another.

Domains carry a primary category, and the Categories tab in Links shows how citations are distributed across site types.

What is on the tab

Key site types

Four cards on top: review sites, business directories, media, social networks. These types affect reputation most, so they are pulled out separately with their share, citation count and domain count.

Table and pie chart

The full split by category with share, citations and domains. Categories expand into subcategories, and the same data switches to a pie chart.

Domains without a primary category

Some domains have no category yet, or span several topics without a primary one. They are shown as a separate row so the shares stay honest.

How to use it

A typical run takes three steps.

  • See which categories hold the bulk of citations in your niche.
  • Click Show links on a category to list all of its domains.
  • Compare that list with where you already publish and decide what is missing.

Good to know

  • Shares follow the same filters as the rest of the section: company, period, AIs. Switching category does not change the denominator.
  • Each citation counts in one primary category of the domain, so shares never double up.
  • The category split exports together with the rest of the section data.
